Google Trends recently updated their online "popularity" meter and Ubuntu remains the clear No1 Linux distro in terms of search trend. Fedora and Debian seem to be battling for the second position, while SuSE had a small "trend" loss in the 3rd place.

I began switching to Linux back in 2000 (IIRC), it was a Suse. The reason was that I was fed up by Windows and all its flaws and was looking for a development plattform where I didn't have to reinvent the wheel again.

News has leaked that Microsoft has enabled support for OpenGL to work with the Vista compositing desktop, as of the most recent preview build. Previously Microsoft's plan had been to force OpenGL to be translated to Direct3D, reducing performance by 50% and locking the OpenGL version to 1.4 only.

How about converting your PlayStation 3 into a laptop? I’m not quite sure what to make of it. On the one hand, well done for spending 14 months squeezing his PS3 into a new case. Though, it does look wrong - not the design so much, rather the notion that someone would need a laptop version of a PS3.

"I recently received an iPod Nano as a gift. My Nano is amazingly small, contains a gigabyte of storage, and sounds very good through its ear buds. It didn't take long for me to learn that folks have been putting Linux on iPods for a couple of years now, courtesy of the iPodLinux Project.
