First 2008 human West Nile virus case reported in Calaveras
The Calaveras County Public Health Department reported its first human case of West Nile virus this year. A 48-year-old resident of Copperopolis became ill in late August and has since recovered. The resident had traveled out of state and it is unknown where the infection occurred.
