Schumer wants tighter scrutiny of 'rent-to-own' shops
Rent-to-own stores, which charge exorbitant lease prices for furniture, appliances and computers, are expanding from urban centers into the suburbs in order to take advantage of consumers who are strapped for cash and maxed out on their credit cards because of the poor economy, Sen.
