Robbers seize payroll computers
SIX computers that had payroll information on them were stolen from the Mdantsane Education offices last week after an armed robbery. Police are now investigating a case of housebreaking and theft after the robbers held up security guards at gunpoint and made off with the machines.

Hot on the heels of our previous story outlining the fiasco that Vista's release has been, TechRepublic's Jason Hiner predicts that Microsoft is aware of its blunder and will respond by making a release of Windows 7 ahead of schedule (primarily by overhauling Vista and calling it Windows 7, it seems) in order to encourage its enterprise clients to upgrade directly from XP to Windows 7.

Novell appears to be attempting to cut off SCO's lifeline to its cash reserves . By not focusing on the arguments over who owns what in Unix but instead hammering on the far more simple matter of SCO not living up to its business contract, Novell hopes to put a quick end to SCO and its seemingly endless Linux litigation.
