Monmouth University computer camps offered
Monmouth University, West Long Branch, has announced it will offer two sessions of summer computer camp for students, directed by Shauna L. Schubiger. A camp for students ages 14-17 interested in learning how to make a Web site or a movie using a digital video camera will be held July 14-18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $630 and includes lunch.

QNX has announced that they are going to open up the source code to their QNX microkernel operating system. The press release reads: "Effective immediately, QNX will make source code for its award-winning, microkernel-based OS available for free download.

I'm a long-time, frustrated Windows user. I have tried various Linux distributions in the past, but I haven't been satisfied with any of them. Today, I went out and bought Red Hat Linux 8.0 from Office Depot for $40. I am a dial-up internet user and I consider myself computer literate, although I don't have much experience using Linux on the desktop.

I chose to checkout Lindows 3.0 because it had been in the news a lot and it had interested me. I had expected more from it though. I expected more applications and much better configuration tools as it is aimed at the Desktop audience.
