Fans of just about anything alternative all seem to suffer from a similar affliction: a naïve underestimation of the pains of switching. This goes for U.S. fans of the metric system, alternative fuel proponents, vegetarians, and yes, OS fanatics.

Last week, I wrote about my first impressions of SUSE Enterprise Linux Desktop 10, after only a day of usage. FTC Supports Self-Regulation of Alcohol Industry Ads
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says that 92 percent of alcohol advertising meets the industry's self-imposed threshold on limiting underage exposure to beer, wine and liquor ads and urged the industry to expand the self-regulatory standards to event sponsorships as well as TV and Internet ads.
