Selectmen OK upgrade of financial software
Tax Collector Stephen G. Curran said he felt like a kid in a candy store and was making “Star Wars” references after the Board of Selectmen on Monday voted to upgrade financial software at Town Hall, using VADAR Systems to replace a 21-year old system.

Microsoft is about to give Media Center PCs a new point of view . The software giant is expected to unveil on Friday an update for its Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system that will boost the computers' abilities to tap online entertainment such as movies, access e-mail and even let users go shopping via the special user interface, designed to allow easy access to multimedia.

One glaring issue I've had since my transition to Linux is video games. Being a Nintendo (consoles) and Sierra (PC) kid, I've gravitated to consoles more lately, but the occasional PC game has kept my interest solidly enough to keep Windows around on a spare drive.
