Sherman Web site hacked; no sensitive data was compromised
By Todd Hutchinson heralddemocrat.com SHERMAN — Visitors to the city of Sherman Web site on Monday found messages that said, “Hacked by Swan-Ottoman Empire. “No data was compromised,” said Kay Thomas, the city of Sherman’s IT systems manager. “It was just a nuisance …a visual hack.”

"The delay of Windows Vista means that computers sold this holiday season will predominantly be running Windows XP. Microsoft hopes that Vista won't be far from the minds of new computer buyers, however, as they are pushing a new 'stickering' campaign aimed at informing customers that most of these machines are capable of handling Vista.

IBM is adopting OpenDocument Format for the first generally available release of its network-based collaboration and office productivity suite. IBM said Sunday its Workplace Managed Client 2.6, due in early 2006, would adopt ODF so users could easily share files and information.
