Back-to-school sales tax holiday begins Thursday
ATLANTA - Georgia shoppers will be able to purchase certain clothing items, school supplies, computers and computer accessories without paying state and local sales tax during the state's seventh annual tax-free holiday, which begins at 12:01 a.m. Thursday and continues until midnight Sunday.

Earnings: EDS second-quarter profit rises 16 percent
Electronic Data Systems, the computer-services company that Hewlett-Packard is buying, reported a 16 percent increase in second-quarter profit Monday as government customers signed new contracts. Net income rose to $160 million, or 31 cents a share, from $138 million, or 26 cents, a year earlier, the Plano-based company said. Sales rose 3.2 percent to $5.62 billion from $5.45 billion.

A blog entry by Jure Repinc tells us about some of the new features in KDE 3.5 which according to this schedule isn't quite finished yet. Amongs other things, there will be a Storage Media Notification dialog and some more eye candy in Kicker.
