More than 60 percent of compromised Windows PCs scanned by Microsoft's Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool between January 2005 and March 2006 were found to be running malicious bot software, the company said.

Sales of Windows Vista to businesses were stronger than expected during the operating system's debut month, according to a report from NPD Group. The sales outpaced the first month's tally for Windows 2000 and only slightly trailed that for Windows XP, the market researcher said Thursday.

Imation introduces 500-GB external drive
Imation Corp. introduced an external hard disk drive with a 500-gigabyte (GB) capacity. The drive is part of the Apollo portable hard drives, which also come in 160 GB, 250 GB and 320 GB models. The drives are 127.4mm 5 inches by 3.2 inches by about ¾-inch thick, and weigh less than a pound.

...because we all know that Microsoft has one foot in bankruptcy court. This company certainly has turned "milking the customer" into an art form hasn't it? It's bad enough it has foisted its software onto a captive audience. Now, it's nickel and diming them to death.
