MEMC reaffirms 3Q outlook, warns on demand
MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. , which supplies silicon wafers used in the production of computer chips and solar cells, warned Tuesday of "increased softness in demand" from some of its semiconductor customers because of their efforts to reduce inventory, a revelation that sent the shares down nearly 3 percent in after-hours trading.
